The depository functions like a bank but there are some differences between the working of a bank and the working of a depository. Explain four of them.
Answer & Explanation:
The Depository System functions very much like the banking system, but following are the differences between the working of a bank and the working of a depository - A bank holds funds in accounts whereas a Depository holds securities in accounts for its clients. A Bank transfers funds between accounts on the instruction of the account holder whereas a Depository transfers securities between accounts on the instruction of the beneficial owner account holder. While Bank involves transfer of fund, Depository system involves transfer of securities. In the Bank, bank is accountable for the safe keeping of funds only whereas in Depository, they are accountable for securities only.
