Explain the following: Bali Roadmap.
Answer & Explanation:
Bali Roadmap: At the 2007 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali, Indonesia in December, 2007, the participating nations adopted the Bali Roadmap as a two-year process to finalizing a binding agreement in 2009 in Denmark. The Bali Road Map consists of a number of forward-looking decisions that represent the various tracks, essential to reaching a secure climate future. The Bali Road Map includes the Bali Action Plan, which charted the course for a new negotiating process designed to tackle climate change, with the aim of completion by 2009. To conduct the process, a subsidiary body under the Convention was set up, called the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA). To discuss future commitments for industrialized countries under the Kyoto Protocol, the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol established a working group in December 2005, called the Ad Hoc Working Group on further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP).
