Write notes on Designated Depository Participant (DDP).

Answer & Explanation:

Answer 6A(iv) Designated Depository Participant (DDP) DDP means a person who has been approved by SEBI under Chapter III of SEBI (Foreign Portfolio Investors) Regulations, 2014. A person shall not act as Designated Depository Participant unless it has obtained the approval of SEBI. SEBI notified the SEBI (Foreign Portfolio Investors) Regulations, 2014 (FPI Regulations). Subsequently, the SEBI had also issued operating guidelines for Designated Depository Participants (DDP) who would grant registration to Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI). Designated Depository Participants (DDPs) are authorised to grant registration to FPIs on behalf of the SEBI. The application for grant of registration is to be made to the DDP in a prescribed form along with the specified fees.
