With establishment of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and National Company Law Tribunal (NCLAT) opportunities for Company Secretaries has increased. Under section 432 of the Companies Act, 2013, Company Secretaries have been authorized to appear before the Tribunal/ Appellate Tribunal. Before setting up of the Tribunal, the matters dealt by the Tribunal what dealt by the High Court and so the appearances were taken by only advocates. Areas of increased scope are as under: Merger/Amalgamation/Compromise Revival of Companies Winding up Reduction of Capital Oppression and Mismanagement Insolvency and Bankruptcy cases.
